Alonso for the title!! Although that phrase will surely delight the people in blue, there’s nothing to confirm just yet! As in other form of sports, or life in general, nothing is confirmed until it happened. For Fernando Alonso of Mild Seven Renault F1 Team, a point in the final race in Brazil next week will surely makes him successfuly defended his title no matter where ‘poor old Schumi’ (as Alonso’s race engineer was quoted as saying) finishes in that race. But, in turn, IF Alonso DNF or finished outside the points (which is very rare), and Schumacher wins the Brazilian GP, then the ‘God’ from Scuderia Marlboro Ferrari F1 team will snatch the title from Fernando, based on number of wins in the season. As it stays now, Alonso is level with Schumi on number of wins (7-7) this season. If Schumi wins next week, then they’ll be on same points accumulated (126 pts. each). But because the latter has 8 wins compared to 7, he will take the title home in dramatic fashion.
For ‘Kimster’ Kimi Raikkonen though, the future is always bright if you’ll be driving the ‘Prancing Horse‘ next year, and a combination of a fast car and a super-quick pilot, you’ll have the package to go all the way and claim his maiden World Driver’s Championship title come the end of next year. And don’t forget, the driver’s favourite Spa-Francorchamps is back on the calendar and Eau Rouge will see lots of sparks flying..!!
For the people out there who just happen to ‘like’ Formula 1 just because their spouses gives them some free tickets to Sepang, but eventually didn’t watch the rest of the races in the calendar on TV, my advice is, be more responsible to yourself, and stop bullshitting people around you, claiming that Formula 1 is your favourite sport through and through…
